SUPPORTING LOCAL CHARITIES IN 2023

At Vercelli, we pride ourselves in supporting the local community as and when we can. In previous fundraisers we have often supported Tynedale hospice, following from the success in this we have decided to donate to as many charities as we can throughout 2023!

Ryan's Brownies

Ryan from Gateway into the Community, worked for Vercelli every Thursday making our amazing dark chocolate brownies. To say thankyou to Ryan we donated £1 from every brownie sold during 2023 to Gateway.

We are pleased to announce we raised an incredible £1044 in 2023!

Gateway into the Community was established in 1998 to support people who have a learning disability and enable them to access social, leisure and learning opportunities within their local and wider community. They support more than 200 people over the year and over 120 people attend various groups and activities every week. They believe that everyone should feel a part of their community and they support their members to feel a real sense of belonging within their local community.

They offer a dedicated Day Service, Individual Support and special interest groups, from there successful sports projects to healthy living, create and chatter, performing arts, computer, older persons’, youth and adult social groups. Their members also enjoy regular discos throughout the year that are eagerly anticipated and well attended. Health and happiness is at the heart of everything they do at Gateway.

Charity Walk 2023

A picture of all the employees before starting our charity walk

On Sunday 21st May 2023, Our team at Vercelli completed a 25 mile walk along the Hadrian's Wall. We began at Vercelli Restaurant in Hexham and finished at The Greenhead Hotel, Brampton. We raised an an amazing £3342 for The North of Tyne Mountain Rescue.

A phenomenal amount of money going to a fantastic cause. NOTMW cover a large area but crucially they cover the Hadrians Wall footpath which is on our doorstep and sees a number of injured walkers every year. Ambulance crews struggle to access these walkers without the help of our mountain rescue team with their specialist vehicles and equipment.

Pizza October 2023

Jordan donating to Tynedale Hospice

Throughout October 2023, the challenge was to sell atleast 1000 pizzas AND beat last years sales of 1096 pizzas to raise money for Tynedale Hospice at Home.

50p from every pizza sold went directly to the charity.

By the end of the month we sold an amazing 1251 pizzas, raising £625.50 for the hospice beating both of our targets. So thank you to everyone who donated!
